Craig Memery and Christine Williams have been appointed as Non-Executive Directors to ASL’s independent Board, further strengthening the Board’s commercial, consumer and governance expertise at an important time for Australia’s electricity infrastructure investment programs.
Craig Memery brings more than 20 years of experience in energy governance and consumer advocacy, spanning regulation, markets, policy, system planning, and project delivery. He has played a key role in stakeholder engagement across the National Electricity Market and held technical, commercial, and advisory positions within the renewable energy sector. Craig currently serves in statutory and governance roles, including:
- End-User Representative on the AEMC Reliability Panel
- Member of the AEMO Integrated System Plan Consumer Panel
- Member of the Monitoring and Compliance Panel for the New Energy Tech Consumer Code
He was a Non-Executive Director on the Energy and Water Ombudsman NSW Board and has chaired numerous sector boards and committees. As Senior Energy Adviser at the Justice and Equity Centre, Craig leads nationally recognised consumer advocacy on energy market reform and regulatory design, focusing on affordability, reliability, decarbonisation, and social licence.
Christine Williams brings more than 30 years of experience in infrastructure, property, and financial services. A seasoned lawyer and business executive, Christine has held senior roles at BT Asset Management Property Group and spent 21 years as Executive Director and Global General Counsel for Macquarie Group’s infrastructure and real asset funds management division, where she managed investment and risk activities across a broad spectrum of infrastructure and real estate assets including in the energy sector. She currently serves as a Non-Executive Director for AEMO, Port of Newcastle Property Trust Group, and several not-for-profit organisations focused on Indigenous education and the arts. Christine has previously served as a Director with Queensland Airports Limited.
ASL’s independent Board provides strategic oversight of ASL’s operations and performance. The Board’s collective expertise spans energy markets, financial markets, and infrastructure delivery, ensuring that our government investment programs are delivered with commercial discipline, integrity, and a focus on long-term consumer and government policy outcomes.
