Overview
NSW Roadmap Tender 7 for Firming Infrastructure is complete. Two projects, representing 532 MW / 2,128 MWh have been awarded Long Term Energy Service Agreements (LTESAs) following a competitive tender assessment process.

About this tender
The NSW Minister for Climate Change and Energy directed ASL, as the independent NSW Consumer Trustee, to deliver a tender to address an expected shortfall in firming capacity in summer 2027/28. NSW Roadmap Tender 7 opened on 2 October 2025 and sought an indicative 500 MW of firming capacity.

Benefits of LTESA awarded projects
The two projects will deliver 532 MW / 2,128 MWh of firming capacity and will:
- Be required to reach COD by November 2027
- Strengthen Energy Security in the Sydney-Newcastle-Wollongong sub-region.
- Provide capacity during Lack or Reserve 2 and 3 events, strengthening reliability and protecting consumers during periods of tight supply/demand balance.
