Nevenka Codevelle has been leading ASL since December 2023.
Nevenka brings over 25 years’ experience in the energy sector, having had a variety of roles spanning both private industry and government sectors.
This included more than 13 years with APA Group as a member of the leadership team that helped grow the business to be included in the ASX50. Nevenka also founded and led the Energy Charter, which brought together the energy industry to deliver better whole-of-system customer and community outcomes.
Nevenka also held the role of Executive General Manager, Government and Stakeholder at AEMO, was a senior policy adviser with the National Competition Council and started her career as an energy and regulatory lawyer.
Thimo Mueller is the General Manager of ASL’s Commercial Team, responsible for the design and implementation of our competitive tender processes. The Commercial Team also plays a key role in fostering our relationships with the investor and developer community and working closely with these stakeholders in the design of sophisticated financial products and contracts.
These processes are used to deliver on the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap and the Australian Government’s Capacity Investment Scheme.
Thimo has over 20 years’ experience in the energy sector, working as an investor in multiple countries across renewable, storage and thermal technologies. His experience spans from working in a start-up energy business to working at globally recognised organisations like RWE and the World Bank.
In these organisations, Thimo has been responsible for a number of high-profile projects such as delivering RWE’s $5b transformation and restructuring program, developing a 2030 Integrated Energy Strategy for the Dubai Government, and managing the development and funding of energy projects in the Pacific, including micro-grids and thermal power for impoverished communities.
Thimo holds a Master of Business Administration and Economics from Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg.
Thomas leads ASL's Stakeholder Relations and Communications function, which includes all external and corporate affairs. Thomas has extensive experience in advocacy, communications and campaigns with a focus on regional Australia and prior to joining ASL, served in a senior role leading major transport infrastructure and policy advice for the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia.
Thomas holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts from Macquarie University.
Melanie Koerner is responsible for leading ASL's System Planning and Financial Markets function.
In this role, Melanie leads the System Planning Team in their development of Infrastructure Investment Objectives Reports – our blueprint for meeting NSW’s future electricity needs and the authorisation of new Renewable Energy Zone transmission infrastructure. Melanie also leads the Financial Markets Team, which focuses on derivative design, maximising consumer value, the identification and mitigation of financial risks and fostering our relationships with the financier community, to help accelerate project plans into new energy infrastructure.
Melanie has joined ASL with twenty years’ of experience as a consultant, leading transformation in Australia’s energy sector, with a focus on policy design, regulatory reform and business case development within emerging and existing energy markets. She has previously worked in a consulting capacity across the sector including for regulated network businesses, energy retail companies, energy market bodies and government.
Melanie has a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) from the University of Adelaide.
Riste has accrued a breadth of experience in the energy and heavy industry sectors, having held a range of roles in AEMO, Ausgrid, AGL and BlueScope Steel.
In these organisations, Riste excelled in senior leadership roles responsible for service delivery, contract management, procurement and commercial.
At ASL Riste is responsible for the contract management function and identifying and actioning processes and systems to enhance our operational efficiency and resilience, as we scale up to deliver our NSW Roadmap and Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS) functions.
Riste holds a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Economics and Finance from the University of Wollongong.
Javed Mower is responsible for leading Governance and Risk at ASL.
Javed brings close to 20 years’ of industry experience, most recently holding the role of Group General Manager - Enterprise Risk at multinational ASX listed Flight Centre Travel Group.
In this role, Javed led the Risk & Compliance function globally. Javed has also previously held senior roles at KPMG and within corporates across the energy and natural resources sectors. In these roles, Javed has led and advised on transformational governance, risk & compliance programs.
Javed holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (Honours) from Griffith University and is completing an MBA at the University of Queensland.
Kai Ito is a senior leader at ASL, bringing deep experience in corporate and energy law across government and market institutions. Prior to joining ASL, Kai held senior legal roles at the Australian Energy Market Operator and the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, advising on complex regulatory, commercial and infrastructure matters.
Kai has also worked in private practice at leading international law firms. He brings a strong understanding of Australia’s energy frameworks and a practical, solutions‑focused approach to supporting ASL’s role in delivering major energy transition initiatives.
Lauren Tamai is the General Manager, People & Culture at ASL, responsible for the organisation’s workforce strategy, people systems and governance in support of ASL’s mandate at the intersection of government, market institutions and private investment. In this role, Lauren leads workforce architecture, workforce planning, remuneration and performance frameworks, capability, culture and people risk.
Lauren joined ASL from Australian Payments Network, Australia’s payments industry association and self‑regulatory body, where she served as Chief People & Culture Officer. As a member of the Executive Team, she worked closely with the CEO, Board and sub‑committees on organisation design, remuneration, people governance and culture within a nationally significant system.
Lauren holds a Bachelor of Medical Science (Neuroscience) and a Master of Commerce (Human Resources and Industrial Relations) and has more than 15 years’ experience operating at executive level. She is recognised for translating strategy into practical workforce, risk and governance outcomes in lean organisations preparing for scale.
